Conditions
- Period : 8 weeks : 1 July - 31 August 2011
- Closing date for applications : ALL DOCUMENTS MUST HAVE BEEN RECEIVED BY MARCH 1ST 2011 AT THE LATEST, AND INCOMPLETE FILES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
- Age limit: 35 years as of 1 January 2011
- Doctoral scholarships, which are financed by the Academy, may be awarded to nationals of developing countries who are resident in their own country.
- Good knowledge of French and English
- Candidates must not previously have received a doctoral scholarship
- Scholarships are in the amount of 2250 euros (35 euros per day) + one-half of travelling expenses, up to a maximum of 910 euros.
NB: The Academy will verify that recipients of scholarships are effectively resident in The Hague without interruption and that they use the Peace Palace library on a regular basis.
Students who wish to apply for a doctoral scholarship must imperatively provide the following documents :
- the scholarship application form typewritten, with an identity photograph
- a curriculum vitae
- a copy of all diplomas in law, translated into one of the two languages of the Academy (French or English)
- indication of the number of hours of international law courses attended, together with the results and marks obtained
- a short letter giving reasons for the application (typewritten, 200 words)
- a recommendation from the candidate's supervisor, certifying that his or her thesis is in the process of completion. The recommendation must be contained in a sealed envelope signed on the reverse side
- an indication of the subject and title of the thesis
