The Hague Academy of International Law has a vacancy for a Registration Officer
Tasks
- Evaluate applications for the courses against existing criteria, and register new students
- Maintain a database of all registered students as well as students having applied
- Perform email contacts with applicants, and communicate acceptances and refusals
- Prepare the selection of scholarships for decisions by the SG
- Be available in the summer during the courses for the students of the Academy
- Engage in other tasks, as may be defined by the Academy
Functional place
The Registration Officer is part of the Secretariat of the Academy, which is based in The Hague (Peace Palace). The Registration Officer has an independent set of tasks but needs to maintain close contacts with the Secretary General for general issues, with the Treasurer for financial matters, and with colleagues in the Secretariat. Coaching capacity for the new job is available. The Registration Officer cannot be on leave during the summer months.
Requirements
- Candidates with a background in legal administration are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates should be orderly organizers and have some demonstrable professional experience.
- Familiarity with on line technology is a critical factor
- Since the Academy works in English and French, good knowledge of both languages is important.

The salary will be in a bracket between 2100 and 2500 euro per month (S-7), depending on experience.
