Election of a New Member of the Curatorium

At its last meeting on January 18th, 2019, the Curatorium elected a new member: Ms. Hannah Buxbaum (United States), Vice-President for International Affairs at Indiana University and Professor at Indiana University Maurer School of Law. Professor Buxbaum succeeds Mr. Peter Trooboff, Senior Counsel at Covington & Burling LLP in Washington, D.C. and member of the District of Columbia and New York Bars. Mr. Trooboff held the seat since 1991.

Mrs. Maarit Jänterä-Jareborg, Professor of Private International Law at the Faculty of Law of Uppsala University and President of the Riksbankens Jubileumsfond Foundation, also bid her farewell to the Curatorium after fulfilling almost 3 mandates since 2005. 

The President of the Curatorium and the President of the Board, together with all the members of the Curatorium and the Secretary-General, personally expressed their sincere appreciation for the great dedication of Mr. Trooboff and Prof. Jänterä-Jareborg to the development of the Academy over the course of their mandates.
