Programme of International Law Courses in Latin America and the Caribbean

The Hague Academy of International Law, in collaboration with the Government of Colombia, has decided to launch a new programme of International Law Courses in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the first edition scheduled for 2026.
The programme will be held from 10 to 20 March 2026 in Cartagena, in the “Palacio de la Proclamación” of the Governorate of the Bolivar Department, the University of Cartagena, and other locations as determined by the Host State and agreed by the Academy.
The courses will essentially be given in the Spanish language.

Registration Period
- Full fee candidates: 15 August – 15 November 2025
Registration fee: 500 USD. - Scholarship candidates: 15 August – 20 September 2025
Limited number of scholarships available.
Eligibility criteria for full fee candidates:
Applicants who have completed at least 4 consecutive years of university studies, which must have included lectures on international law;
and
Applicants holding a 3-year university law degree (LL.B. or other) on the start date of the upcoming programme, or a document certifying completed years of university studies in law, preferably having already followed some courses on international law.
Eligibility criteria for scholarship candidates:
Scholarship candidates must be either PhD candidates or holders of a PhD degree. Selection will be based on academic merit.
All applicants must master Spanish as a working language.
