The Hague Academy of International Law organized a Side Event during the 73rd session of the Sixth Committee (Conference Room 11) of the General Assembly at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on October 24th 2018.
Following last year's initiative, this year's Side Event had as topic “The Making of a Judgement by the International Court of Justice” and was broadcast LIVE on UN Web TV (http://webtv.un.org) from 1:15pm to 2:30pm EDT (19:15-20:30 CEST).
H.E. Judge Peter Tomka and H.E. Judge ad hoc Yves Daudet, President of the Curatorium of the Academy, shared their experiences at the International Court of Justice. The discussion was moderated by Professor Jean-Marc Thouvenin, the Secretary-General of The Hague Academy, and it was a very insightful one.
This year's Side Event is made possible with generous support from the Permanent Missions of Brazil, France, Gabon, Mexico and Singapore to the United Nations, and from the Governments of the Netherlands and Andorra.
