The “Day of Crisis”: Opening of the registration period

The Academy is delighted to announce the organisation of a new student competition: the “Day of Crisis”. The registration period is now open for this event, which will be held at the Peace Palace every year at the end of April/beginning of May.

Over the course of 24 hours, several teams of students representing governments, international organizations, businesses or non-governmental organizations, will face a series of major international crises.
This competition challenges students’ knowledge of public international law while handling legal issues, and a variety skills such as collaborating in a team, drafting, negotiating, elaborating diplomatic strategies and working under pressure.

Any university, law school or college offering a law or international relations degree may register a team of 4 to 5 members for the competition.

Participation is free of charge. Each team is invited to consult the Competition Rules,the Annex to the Competition Rules and the Intelligence Bulletins that will be published regularly on our website. Applications to participate in the Day of Crisis should be submitted per team before January 20th, 2022, 23:59 hrs (GMT+1) via the online registration form.

NB: The competition will be conducted in English exclusively.
It is not envisaged to hold this competition online.
