Academy Side Event at UN Headquarters on 25 October 2023

The Hague Academy of International Law, with the kind sponsorship of the Permanent Missions to the United Nations of the Philippines, Andorra, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Egypt, El Salvador, France, Greece, Guatemala, India, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Mongolia, Panama, Peru, Portugal, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of Poland, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Togo, Ukraine, the United States of America and Vietnam will once again hold a “Side Event” at the UN Headquarters in New York.

The event will take place on Wednesday, 25 October 2023, from 1:15 pm to 2:30 pm EST/7:15 to 8:30 pm GMT+1. The topic of this year’s Side Event is “Peaceful Dispute Settlement: The Indispensable Courts and Courses of the Peace Palace”.

Participants will have the opportunity to listen to addresses by H.E. Mr. Marcin Czepelak, Secretary-General of the Permanent Court of Arbitration, H.E. Mr. Philippe Gautier, Registrar of the International Court of Justice, and Professor Jean-Marc Thouvenin, Secretary-General of the Academy.
