Advanced Courses on International Law in the Philippines

The Hague Academy of International Law, in partnership with the Supreme Court of the Philippines and the Judicial Academy of the Philippines (PHILJA), inaugurated its first Programme on Demand of Advanced Courses in the Philippines on Monday 19 February, together with leading figures from the inviting judicial and academic institutions.
The programme will cover topics on public and private international law and will last two intense weeks, from 19 February to 1 March.

100 Filipino participants selected from among judges, lawyers, officials from other government departments and academics are taking part in the Advanced Courses at the Judicial Academy of the Philippines in Tagaytay. More than 160 participants of similar rank are attending the online courses.

During the Opening Ceremony, welcome speeches were delivered by Professor Jean-Marc Thouvenin, Secretary-General of the Academy, Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo, H.E. Justice Rosmari Declaro Carandang and H.E. Enrique A. Manalo. The meeting was immortalised by a group photo, after which the lectures given by the judges, professors and renowned ambassadors started and will continue until 1 March.
