Signing Ceremony Held Between the Peruvian Embassy in the Netherlands and the Academy

The Academy was honoured to receive Her Excellency the Ambassador of Peru Mrs. Franca Lorella Deza Ferreccio, Ms. Sandra Rodríguez and Mr. Carlos Días, at a ceremony to formalise Peru’s support, in the form of a voluntary contribution, for the Academy’s work, held on 21 February 2025 at the Peace Palace.

The ceremony gave the Academy the opportunity to receive formally Ambassador Franca Lorella Deza Ferreccio at the Peace Palace, after having had already the honour to count her as registered attendee during an Event organized by the Academy in January.

The Secretary-General of the Academy, Professor Jean-Marc Thouvenin, and the Treasurer, Ms Andrea Kramer, presented in depth the regular activities of the Academy as well as the anticipated developments, expressing in particular the availability of the Academy, should Peru consider it relevant, to explore possibilities of carrying out programmes on demand upon request of Peru.

H.E. Franca Lorella Deza Ferreccio insisted on the importance of international law, in both public and private sectors, in fact for all lawyers, in particular at this moment of human history and indicated that she will convey to her Ministry the outcome of this ceremony;

The Secretary-General and the Treasurer expressed once again the gratitude of the Academy for Peru’s regular substantial voluntary contribution, and extended an invitation to H.E. Franca Lorella Deza Ferreccio at the opening of the next summer session of courses.
