The External Programme
During the External Programme
The External Programme extends over a period of 8 days. The official opening ceremony of the session traditionally takes place on a Friday evening. A “get-acquainted weekend” follows on Saturday and Sunday. During the weekend, lectures on topics concerning the host country and touristic visits are organised in order to break the ice among participants and professors.
As a result, the programme can start on Monday in a more relaxed and informal atmosphere. Different courses and seminars, interspersed with a few group receptions and dinners, are organized every day from Monday to Friday. The programme is rounded off by an official ceremony on Friday at the end of the day, during which the Secretary-General hands out the certificates of attendance to each individual participant.
