During the Centre

When the three weeks of the Centre session at the Academy start, the work begins with an overall discussion of the various aspects of the theme, after which each researcher usually has an in-depth individual discussion with his or her Director of Research.

The rest of the programme is freely determined by the Directors. It may consist of collective meetings with a varying number of participants within one language group, joint meetings between the two language groups, individual discussions, visits to institutions, guest lectures, social activities etc. However, most of the time will be devoted to working at the Peace Palace Library. Participants are required to reside in The Hague uninterruptedly for the entire duration of the Centre.
